RENTAL POLICIES & INFORMATION

1. Rental Policy

  • Damage Deposit: Each jet ski operator is required to provide a damage deposit of $500 on a credit card or $1,000 on a debit card. Deposits are refunded upon the return of the jet ski without damage, although the processing may take several days. Deposits cannot be split across multiple cards, and each operator must cover their own deposit unless a credit card authorization form is filled out by the cardholder.
  • Arrival Time: Operators must arrive at least 45 minutes prior to their scheduled departure time. Late arrivals may lead to cancellation without a refund.
  • Identification Requirements: All operators must present a physical government-issued ID. Digital copies or pictures will not be accepted.

2. Operator and Passenger Eligibility

  • Age and Height Restrictions: Operators must be at least 18 years old. Passengers must be at least 42 inches tall.
  • Capacity and Weight Limits: Only one additional passenger or operator is allowed per jet ski. The combined weight of both riders must not exceed 375 lbs.
  • Language Requirement: All operators and passengers must speak fluent English to ensure clear understanding of safety and operational instructions.
  • Intoxication Policy: Rental services will be denied to anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The reservation charge will be forfeited, and no rescheduling will be allowed.

3. Safety and Compliance

  • Weather and Environmental Conditions: In the event of unfavorable weather, the reservation may be rescheduled at our discretion on the day of operation.
  • Reservation Alterations: We reserve the right to modify or cancel reservations based on current or anticipated weather and lake conditions for safety.
  • Designated Operational Boundaries: Rentals must operate within designated boundaries from Foster Beach to the north and Adler Planetarium to the south.
  • The Playpen and Chicago River are strictly off-limits.

4. Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • Cancellation Notice: A 48-hour notice is required for cancellations. To cancel, the reservation holder must send the request to info@nextwavewatersports.com and include the full name on the reservation and confirmation number.
  • Refunds: Full refunds are issued for cancellations made at least 48 hours before the reservation time. No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 48 hours unless trip protection was purchased at booking. With trip protection, cancellations up to 1 minute before the reservation are eligible for a full refund (minus the cost of trip protection).
  • Weather Concerns: If weather conditions are deemed unsafe, we will offer to reschedule or issue a full refund, decided the morning of operation at the discretion of Next Wave Watersports.
